The shape of humanity

picture

humanity

spreading; branching through time

covering the whole planet’s face

briefly

flickering to the Moon and space

shrivelling termini

yet the Earth ‘worm’

endures

  2. Wonderful! In fact, I suspect that this took much more thought than it appears. But I love it!

Glad you like it, Paul. This poem sat in my ‘drafts’ for — believe it or not — eight years before I finally got a round tuit. (It’s very different from its original form, I didn’t know about ‘butterfly cinquain’ until very recently). I’ve already written a follow-up explaining it in more detail… stay tuned! :)
