Bill Maher on new rules for old fools

… and, finally, new rule:

Before Americans can laugh at how pathetic Cubans are for driving those old patched-up cars instead of getting new ones, we have to explain why that’s what we’re doing with our healthcare system, our voting system, our energy policy and our infrastructure.

Same goes for the 51st state. Not the movie: The Nation Formerly Known as the United Kingdom*, which exhibits many of the same flaws Bill levels at the USA.

Many thanks and a hat tip to Peter Sinclair for the heads-up.

*With apologies to Prince, RIP.

An amusing clip, Pendantry. I trust you are well?

‘Wellness’ is a relative term. I thank you for your kind thought.

Yes, it’s an amusing clip, and that’s good. But while a part of me admires whomever writes Bill’s content* their ability to couch serious content in humour, another part wonders whether, perhaps, the message itself is lost in the memory of the laughter.

      * I believe it’s quite clear from the way Mr Maher stumbles over the sentence I’ve quoted that he’s reading an autocue.

  2. If you’re writing about an American comic shouldn’t you spell humour , humor? (I had to spell humour twice to override my spellcheck.

Needed a laugh today because here is Seattle we’re going to break the high temperature record for the day once again. Been happening quite often lately in these here parts.

Your Excremence! How grand of you to poop by. And from so fart away! I trust you’re finding many convicts in Seattle. Concerts? Converts. P.S. can I borrow your speelchucker?

I'd love to hear what your views are!
