Tears in rain

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.

Attack ships on fire
off the shoulder of Orion.

I watched C-beams glitter in the dark
near the Tannhäuser Gate.

All those
will be lost
in time

(Time to die.)

  1. One of the first things that I do when I raid your blog is look at the date in the link (publish date). December 2011? That’s almost a decade ago. What was I doing back then? How life was so different.

But, anyway. This post filled me with so many different emotions. The melody from the soundtrack put me at ease but the words filled me with dread, regret, and sadness (different parts). Quite a trip.

Do you remember what the reason behind this post was?

There was nothing happening to me personally at that time that sparked this post, if that’s what you mean. I’ve just always thought it’s one of the most moving, evocative scenes I’ve ever seen, and I wanted to share it. Have you seen Blade Runner (the original, not the rubbish ‘2049’ sequel)? If not, I thoroughly recommend it.

Another of my all-time favourite scenes, if you’re interested, is Inama Nushif.

I'd love to hear your thoughts...
