Climate change: it’s the humans, stupid

Infographic: Over 97% of climate experts think humans are causing global warming

Imagine you’re about to board a plane.

  • 98 airline mechanics tell you that they are certain the plane will never make it.
  • 2 airline mechanics tell you that they are not sure about the success of the flight.
  • 1 auto mechanic tells you that he is certain the plane will make it and all the other airline mechanics are wrong.

Dunno about you, but I wouldn’t get on it (well, I wouldn’t anyway, because I’ve vowed never to fly again to try to reduce my ecological footprint, but that’s irrelevant right now).

I particularly like the way that the choice of colour in this image draws the eye from the title ‘Humans are Responsible’ to the three odd ones out on the bottom right… underscoring the fact that a large part of the reason we’ve done bugger all about a huge problem that we’ve known about for decades is directly due to the activities of the merchants of doubt.

Yep, the problem is the stupid humans, all right.

Image above shamelessly snagged from a highly informative PDF slideshow on Professor Scott Mandia’s ‘Global Warming: Man or Myth?’ with no apology. Data wants to be free.
